here there's an extended guitar intro, but the melody is recognizable at 1:55

the bowed bass in this song makes me think of insects chirping on a summer morning

this song genuinely almost brought me to tears yesterday
every version of this song [Spain] makes me think of the coming of spring, and of the feeling of freedom, of running through a field of green grass under a blue sky, of the absence of fear and obligation. the feeling of being alive
all the other instruments feel like they're floating above it
hearing the low e string bowed in particular sounds so good. its so deep and resonant

mei semones writes some really great intro riffs, which combine the catchiness and simplicity of an indie guitar "riff idea" with more complicated jazz language
The intro riff here is “recontextualized” when the drums come in - you count the riff one way before it comes in and differently after. Specifically you count the one on a different note.
I've listened to a few renditions of this song (Bill Evan's is pretty nice - Beautiful Love), and this is my favorite so far. What's strange however is that all of these covers are piano or guitar trios, sometimes with both (like Anita O Day's version - Beautiful Love).
I wanted to hear a saxophone or trumpet solo over these changes but couldn't find anything.
Taking a cursory look at Youtube (searching "Beautiful Love Saxophone Solo"), all of the results seem to be instructional (e.g. "easy beginner beautiful love saxophone solo"). Maybe these changes are too easy or boring for a serious sax player?
