I can't quite put my finger on it, but the synth tones at the start of this song give me the feeling of waking up on a beach with the waves washing over you, like the opening scene of Inception. Fits into the general aquatic theme of the album.
I think this song has the same chord progression as Ode To The Mets. It has the same somber, reflective vibe as well

God, the #choir over the synths sounds heavenly. This is the most emotional Strokes song I've ever heard, it almost reminds me of Human Sadness, one of my favorite songs of all time by the singer's side project.
Come to think of it, I'm not sure the choir sound is a choir - it could totally be a synth.
The production on this entire album reminds me of the production on A Moon Shaped Pool, particularly tracks like Daydreaming. They create this underwater feeling through the use of spaced out synths, heavily reverbed guitar tracks, and airy keys
