publicThe intro riff here is “recontextualized” when the drums come in - you count the riff one way before it comes in and differently after. Specifically you count the one on a different note.

publicI don't like the way the bass is mixed here - it sounds terribly muddy. There's enough room in the low end to have the bass come through more clearly.

publicI've listened to a few renditions of this song (Bill Evan's is pretty nice -
Beautiful Love), and this is my favorite so far. What's strange however is that all of these covers are piano or guitar trios, sometimes with both (like Anita O Day's version -
Beautiful Love).
I wanted to hear a saxophone or trumpet solo over these changes but couldn't find anything.
Taking a cursory look at Youtube (searching "Beautiful Love Saxophone Solo"), all of the results seem to be instructional (e.g. "easy beginner beautiful love saxophone solo"). Maybe these changes are too easy or boring for a serious sax player?

publicInsanely sick bass solo, easily my favorite rendition of this jazz standard. Love how the bass plays the melody of the song.
