"wuthering heights" is almost certainly going to be terrible, but i am still coming back to this song. "i think i'm going to die in this house" feels like a phrase plucked from my brain or maybe the collective unconscious; it perfectly encapsulates the horror of abuse and of wuthering heights: the fear that this is it, forever, that you will never escape, you will always be subject to this house and the abuse it holds; the claustrophobia and existential certainty of your eternal misery.
